PROJECT 30 GOALS
- To use the Power of Music and Art to educate Americans on Human Rights.
- To restore hope to inner-city neighborhoods by creating safe community centers which utilize mentoring programs to help our youth achieve their dreams.
- To bring awareness to human rights violations in our own country.
- To activate Americans to pressure our government to eliminate human rights violations.
THE NAME
Project 30 gets its name from the 30 human rights outlined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Learn more about Human Rights...
WHY HERE?
The first country targeted in this program is the USA. Why? Americans have championed democracy and equal rights all over the world since the country began. Yet, human rights violations occur right under our noses – and we look away. And the greatest tragedy of all is that people have lost hope. Watch the Video to learn more…
STEP 1 – WAKE UP!
Before conditions can change, people have to know their rights. Then they have to know that violations of those rights are occurring, and that this is not acceptable any more. Apathy is hereby cancelled. Then they have to know what to do about it – to change things, to fix the problems, to heal the wounds, to create a better world. To restore HOPE. One way to do this is to mentor our youth so not only do they become human rights advocates, they also are guided so they can achieve their goals and dreams. It can be a little much to ask someone to fight for human rights if they have lost hope – let alone they aren't making ends meet, themselves.
PROGRAMS
In short, Project 30 USA is focused on the following:
- Human Rights Education, especially for America's youth.
- Grass-roots Activism to make human rights violations known.
- Human Rights Action Team that unites artists, celebrities, government, community, religious, business and youth leaders to work toward real-world solutions to achieve the goal of true human rights for all Americans.
- Establishment of Inner-City Arts, Education and Recreation facilities for at-risk youth.
- Internship and counseling programs to help youth achieve the most basic of human rights: to receive an education, to work, to be free, to live!
